Every youngster has invested something into a cellphone - be it either time, money, energy. They know more about handling a phone then we middle aged types do.
But how many try to make a cell phone pay? True most of the games, music, happening apps are being made by 18- 24 year old...but what about the general run of youngsters - who are not developers. Is the cell phone just an entertainment system for them? After investing so much into it?
There are many ways one can make money via a cell phone. Not exactly millions - but everyday pocket money. There are many tasks that just require a pair of nimble hands knowing how to use a phone - that pay. Small tasks like getting photos of local areas, or otherwise, scanning codes, moving items, customising ringtones, even singing a song for a youtube video - that one can do - are being required by ecommerce providers. One just has to know where to fnd the tasks and make them a paying option.
So why not use that beautiful gadget to pay for your fine wine?
As I was going through the clickbank marketplace - I came across this very descriptive video of a teenager describing "How to Make Money with a Cell Phone"?
Can one really make that much money with a cell phone?
Is it worth trying out? Maybe teenagers who are constantly texting will indeed find it a novel experience trying to earn through a cell phone.
I find the cell phone a bore - all my friends are on FB or gmail chat!
But in case you are keen on trying to earn money through your mobile - this is as good a place as any to give it a shot! Just dont blame me if it doesnt work.

Ok -you have written a great post and have published it at Xomba or hubpages or your blog or anywhere. What do you do to get it backlinked?
I just realised that only very few of my posts are backlinked. On top of that came the realisation from blogspot stats that the majority of my reads for mylittlelogbook.blogspot.com comes from yousaytoo.com. Yousaytoo.com is a site that provides a platform to provide backlinks to your blog.
I also read at a forum on Hubpages that a member who gets around 20000 pageviews a day systematically bookmarks all his posts at xomba, snipsly, etc!
That really made me pause. All these news and information on top of each other must be providential. I have more than 9000 posts at Xomba. and some 90 odd posts at hubpages. Enough you say to be having 100000 page views a day! But I dont have even a tenth of that. As of yesterday - I have started the effort to link and bookmark my posts, blogs as much as possible. The effort is official now!

If you think all "make money from home" schemes are scams - think again. There are plenty of genuine websites out there where you can make money by writing. And you don't have to pay a cent - it is all for free! HubPages is one such site. Here is what the website says

Starting a Blog on Making Money Online
Let me tell you this blog will be full of my ramblings. Mostly ramblings on making money online. A small introduction. I am a homemaker who spends most of her spare time online. Providentially, I came across a website some two years back which changed my life. The site is called Xomba. I could only give a couple of hours a day to the site - but I discovered a writing platform and a ready made community at Xomba. The Xomba community and its feedback, making money, seeing results for even simple posts - all combined to wean me away from playing online games!
Now, after two satisfying and lucrative years at Xomba - I am out to explore other online making money opportunities. Maybe I have even got the term wrong! I will learn. Couple of things I have learned in the past couple of years is - that perseverance pays and how! and one should not be afraid to experiment or be afraid of failure! So my ramblings here will be all over the net - as i take note, learn, share and get inputs from anyone who reads this blog.

I will reveal my earnings at the end of this month. My earnings absolutely leapfrogged after the new faster site was launched!

One Year At Xomba
It is a year for me here. A year of discovery so to say! A year of around 6000 blurbs and 200 bytes. A year of reading, learning, writing and in the process meeting some great people. People who are interesting, funs, sensitive as also people who are controversial, biased or just judgmental. Diversity as it should be. It has been a glorious joyride. Staying up at nights, searching for stories, reading great stuff, working hard...all at Xomba. Moreover, it has all been immensely enjoyable except for a few rare occasions.
Xomba is evolving, fast and furious. So where will it be one year down the line... ten years down the line...
What do we have now? A social network with say 15000 members (sorry Nick, if I have got it wrong), an adsense sharing site where some members have made really big money, a portal with the latest news and in-depth reviews, lately a Xomba shop with special edition (sounds good) items and all these combined with Abmox and contests to keep even the dead interested! That’s a big deal to have achieved in a little over two years. One year from now… maybe we will have a fantasy league to draw in a more loyal sports crowd, a more evolved shop, some more in looks and features to rival the Big Ones and much more.
But ten years from now? Well, I see Xomba in the league of Google, Microsoft, Yahoo (as they are now; I don’t think these three will still be ruling the roost in a decade.) And why not? Our CEO is only twenty plus and has already shown tremendous vision and looks set to rule in the long run. Google started as “The Perfect Search Engine”, so will it be Xomba- “The Perfect Website” in a few years?

My First 2000 Dollars At Xomba - Where Else!
My earnings from Xomba reached 2000 dollars recently...and I think Xomba deserves a huge applause from me and an eulogy! How did it happen? I am as amazed as everyone else in my family...I mean getting cheques regularly from halfway around the World!
Xomba has truly made an immense difference in my life. I have discovered the art of writing. I wrote once before here that there's a writer in each one of us (though maybe not an editor!) Thanks to Xomba I am well upto date on whats happening in the World. I had forgotten to watch the News in the hectic business of looking after kids, making a career. But now I am upto date on the latest utterances by Obama Clinton McCain, Kenya, Iraq, Iran, Premier League, MLB. NFL, NBA, sub prime, consequences of smoking (;-)...so on and so forth...not to mention the latest releases in movies, albums! And I am earning money in the process.
So what have I written?
The earliest post that got me good money was on cricket - my favorite subject. It was on Yuvraj's Six Sixes in the T20 World Cup. Lesson - write with your emotion on subjects that interest you! Here's the post

* To be able to save unfinished posts so as to be able to edit at a later date!
* And of course - having the reads back - which Admin assures is being worked on!

Making Money On Xomba
I find that its been a tough last few days to make money on Xomba. So it has made me wonder if thats the case only with me or if its a general issue.
Could the reason be, there are more people posting blogs on Xomba? Of course it will be helpful for Xombaites in the long run. More postings->Quality Postings->More traffic to Xomba.
But if thats not the case? If its a case of more people writing for all sites...ie, internet users have become smarter and those who just surfed the net for fun, want a piece of action/money (like me)...and everyone's posting and there are fewer buyers...with economy as it is, that would make some sense, wouldn't it? If people can earn thousands of dollars online when jobs data looks scary, there will be more online bloggers just to make money..like in the real world when there are only sellers and few buyers...and like in the real world when that happens, there are hefty discounts!
So have I discovered why I am not making good money lately? Well I think its a combination of all the above factors (15%) but more to do with my laziness (85% reason), when I am only posting what everyone else is posting!!!
So you see its not easy making money...period. Online or offline.

How Much Adsense Earnings Can A Newbie Make on Xomba?
This is especially for all you newbies out there. I remember when I joined Xomba in September, I had absolutely no idea that there was money to be made online. I thought all these money making sites were just fairy tales.
First few days are bad... You are new and you still confuse between blurbs and bytes, your adsense earnings are miserly, you keep on posting what you think will get money, finally in desperation, sleazy stuff...you copy and paste a line or two for blurbs (because it does say that xomblurbs are for pointing out good stuff, and you think pasting a line or two is pointing - but plagiarization is plagiarization - 1 line or Ten lines!), Nick bans you, you curse...
Believe me, there is always a blending problem when you start any new job, Xomba is not any different!
If however, you survive all this you will find you have a crystallized view on how to make money on this site. See, through all these you have been writing, posting blurbs. You have posted, lets say, 20X10=200 interesting blurbs and maybe a few good bytes too in ten days. And suddenly your adsense account looks better. You are earning in dollars, not cents. A single good blurb/byte that catches fancy can make 2-3 dollars in a few hours! I had made 4 dollars on my fourth day at Xomba and I had never before written online. It takes 2 hours to post that 20 blurbs...and in 100 days you will have 2000 blurbs. That may easily give you an average earning of 10 dollars a day! Just dont lets bad spellings, insipid content spoil the party! So, its not bad you see - 3rd month and you are making $ 300 a month! Yes as a newbie you can easily get that...and it will be worth the effort...
Its only my 5th month online, I dont know where my online earnings are headed from here, but I am surely enjoying it! And am striving to reach that $1000 a month...maybe next month?
